Today is the beginning of an exciting and interesting stretch in our household.
Over the next 12 days, we will, at various points, be hosting three different guests, one after the other. This will undoubtedly be fun because all three guests are good friends. But it will be interesting because our apartment is a whopping 300 square feet.
Friends and relatives have crashed at our place before (we have a futon), but we’ve never had a parade of people come in and out quite like this. Our apartment can barely hold two adults and two dogs … so if I accidentally kick any of my guests in the head as I climb over the open futon on the way to the bathroom in the middle of the night, I apologize in advance.
Honestly, I’m not worried about me or my wife; we’ve (surprisingly) adjusted fairly well to our spartan quarters. But boy, are our guests in for a surprise!
All three are used to running around homes; the only thing that runs in this apartment is the water (getting the temperate right is another story). The best way I can describe a stay with us: Imagine having guests stay at your home, but closing off the entire house except for your bedroom and master bathroom. Only our apartment is smaller than your bedroom and bathroom.
Welcome to our abode.
So, today, our hostel is officially open for business. Please, enjoy your stay. And remember … you get what you paid for.
