What To Do This Weekend

A quick check of the AccuWeather forecast says rain for this weekend. So I will not be recommending outdoor dining/activities (sorry, Red Hook Food Vendors and pretty looking patio at Motorino’s Pizza — maybe next time).

Instead, stay in and let out your inner animal! (Warning: theme alert.)

* My favorite dog-friendly bar, Floyd, NY, has been advertising in its window for weeks a big Kentucky Derby watch party (Cobble Hill Blog has the details).

* From the “is this creatively cool or just plain weird?” department comes a human petting zoo (no, I am not making this up) this Saturday, from 1-4 p.m., at the Brouwerij Lane Fresh Beer Store in Greenpoint.

And if you’re not feeling the whole animal thing … Eating Brooklyn recommends Vietnamese for lunch, followed by Thai for dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in the nabe (and arguably the best value in the five boroughs), Joya. When you’re done, you can wash it all down at The Brazen Head’s Spring Cask Festival.
